Original vintage poster, this came to us with two strips of 1970s fibreboard glued to the top and bottom edge and had been hung like a pendant, at some stage a hole had been punched in the body of the poster but fortunately there were no losses or attempted repair work. The appearance was so bad we decided to remove the fibreboard but the glue had impregnated the surface of the poster in places, after months of trying to remove them and having taken professional advice we accepted it was impossible to separate them without losing some of the surface. We have used Japanese acid/lignin free tape to repair the hole and Japanese water colours to give a light wash to the top and bottom edges - both these will cause no damage and are completely reversible.
