Printed on reversal film these positive images produce colour transparencies that were used in commercial photography until the mid-1990s when digital media gradually replaced them. They were preferred for publication because of the film?s higher contrast and resolution, the colours are more vibrant with a finer grain and better resolution and sharpness compared to traditional negative films.
